Kenmore Mercy Recognizes Dedicated Volunteers

Kenmore Mercy Hospital recently honored its many volunteers at the 2012 Volunteer Recognition Dinner.

A number of volunteers were honored for extraordinary service, including Gerry Petko, who began her volunteer career at Kenmore Mercy in 1957 as a Junior Board member.  When asked about her volunteer experience at Kenmore Mercy in the last 55 years, she responded, “I got more out of it than I put in.”

The following volunteers were awarded special pins during the dinner.

Helping Hands

Susan Snyder - A volunteer since 2010, Susan serves at the patient information desk, works on special projects, scans radiology reports, and is an Emergency Department patient advocate volunteer. She lives in Tonawanda.

Shooting Star

Theresa Ralph – A volunteer since 1997, she serves at the patient information desk. She lives in Kenmore.

Margaret Twisdale – A volunteer since 1993, she serves at the patient information desk. She lives in Tonawanda.

Caring Hands

Carol Manning – Carol has been a volunteer since 2009 and she serves in the Pharmacy. She lives in Grand Island.

Above & Beyond 

Dale Ohearn – A volunteer since 2008, she is a surgical greeter and does clerical work in the medical staff office. He lives in Buffalo.

Hearts & Hands

Cheryl Ketcheson – A member of the Auxiliary’s sewing group, Cheryl has volunteered since 2004.  She lives in Buffalo.

Clifford Miller – A volunteer since 1995, he serves in the Pharmacy. He lives in Tonawanda.

Heart and Star

Helen Pasztor – A volunteer since 1993, Helen serves at the Patient Information Desk, is the Emergency Room liaison and recently joined our Emergency Department patient advocate volunteer team.  She lives in Tonawanda.

All of the volunteers are valued and important to the departments in which they serve.

Kenmore Mercy Hospital and its off sites have more volunteers than any of the other hospitals in the Catholic Health. At the present time we have 329 volunteers. This number includes more than 100 Auxiliary members, and students.
