Grzybowski Fund Benefits Mercy’s Stroke Center
January 23, 2012
The Grzybowski family of Lackawanna recently presented a $3,500 donation to the Mercy Hospital Foundation from proceeds of the 3rd Annual Charleen Grzybowski Golf Event held last fall at the Lancaster Country Club. The donation will benefit Mercy Hospital’s Stroke Center for enhancements to its patient education room. A portion of the tournament’s proceeds also benefited Upstate New York Transplant Services (UNYTS).
Christopher Grzybowski, owner of Don’s Auto in Lackawanna, and his five children, Christina, Jessica, Brian, Jacob and Stacy began the Charleen Grzybowski Stroke Care Fund for Mercy Hospital and UNYTS in memory of their devoted wife and mother, Charleen Grzybowski, who lost her life to a sudden stroke in 2007. Their friends, Ed and Tracy Melisz, helped them establish the fund later that year.
Major sponsors of this year’s golf event included: Uni-Select USA, automotive supplier; NAPA Auto Parts; Car Quest; North American Labatts; Certo Brothers; Try-It Distributors; and Don’s Auto.
