Joe McDonald, president & CEO of Catholic Health, has been named chair of the Board of Trustees of the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS).
McDonald and HANYS new slate of board officers will serve a one-year term.
A healthcare executive for more than 25 years, McDonald begin his career in Knoxville, Tennessee. He joined Catholic Health in 2002, helping the Western New York healthcare system achieve statewide and national recognition.
He has been recognized by the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) with its Senior Level Regents Award for his contributions towards the advancement of healthcare management excellence.
As chair of the HANYS Board of Trustees, he will help advance the association’s advocacy efforts to support health providers throughout the state and ensure that all New Yorkers have access to high quality healthcare services.
HANYS represents and advocates on behalf of all New York hospitals and health systems at all levels of the federal and state government. It is the only statewide hospital and continuing care association in New York, representing more than 500 non-profit and public hospitals, nursing homes, home care agencies, and other healthcare organizations.
