Shari McDonough, Foundation executive director, Joan LeBlanc, Auxiliary treasurer, and Margret Was, Auxiliary president, gather to present the Foundation with a major donation.
The Kenmore Mercy Foundation was recently presented with a $64,000 check from the hospital’s Auxiliary. Shari McDonough, Foundation executive director, received the generous donation from Margret Was, president and Joan LeBlanc, treasurer of the Auxiliary, at their annual luncheon. This money will be used by the foundation for Kenmore Mercy Hospital equipment grants.
In previous years, the auxiliary’s monetary support has enabled the purchase of clinical equipment and technology used in various hospital departments, all of which help hospital associates further serve the community. Some items purchased using hospital equipment grants have included glide scopes, vital check machines and a television for the dining room in the Medical Rehabilitation Unit.
“We are pleased to present this check to the Foundation of Kenmore Mercy Hospital on behalf of all the auxilians who worked so hard at our many fundraising events this past year,” said Margret Was.
The auxiliary’s sewing group sells handmade items in the atrium every Monday and features many holiday items; the Ways & Means Committee hosts a number of creative events throughout the year including jewelry sales and new and used book sales. Additionally, the auxiliary runs and operates the Willow Tree Gift Shop.
The Kenmore Mercy Auxiliary is the fundraising arm of volunteer services. It consists of more than 150 dedicated individuals, who work diligently to increase funding for various Kenmore Mercy Hospital services and programs.
The Auxiliary is always open to new members willing to use their talents and abilities to help support the hospital. For more information about the Auxiliary, please contact Lucille Greico at (716) 836-6564.
