Free Health Screenings During Stroke Awareness Health Fair on October 15

Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, a New York State Designated Stroke Center, will hold a Stroke Awareness Health Fair on Saturday, October 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Main Conference Room on the 3rd floor of the hospital, located at 565 Abbott Road in Buffalo.
The event is free and open to the public. The Stroke Awareness Fair will feature free health screenings, including:
- carotid ultrasound (stroke) - by appointments only;
- blood pressure;
- balance/fall prevention assessment;
- a stroke risk awareness survey.
Free health information to learn more about the signs, symptoms and risk factors for stroke will also be available, along with healthy refreshments and diet/nutritional information.
During the event, physician specialists will be available for questions, including Peterkin Lee-Kwen, MD, Medical Director of the Mercy Hospital Stroke Center and Thomas Polisoto, MD, Medical Director, Mercy Hospital Medical Rehabilitation Unit.
The event is sponsored by Catholic Health with Western New York’s largest network of designated stroke centers; Siemens; Boehringer Ingelheim; and Genentech.
Free parking will be available in the Mercy Hospital Parking Ramp for those attending the Stroke Awareness Fair.
