March 8, 2011

Mercy Hospital will once again be proudly represented in downtown Buffalo’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 20, 2011 with this year’s float theme, “Born at Mercy; Celebrating Life in Buffalo.”

For the past three years, Steve Piesczynski, Mercy’s Director of Facilities and Engineering, has waved to the crowds dressed as St. Patrick on Mercy Hospital’s award-winning parade floats. In addition to Mercy associates (staff), Sisters of Mercy, and physicians, we are inviting anyone who was born at Mercy or OLV hospitals to march with us in the parade. Friends and family are welcome.

Parade marchers who were not born at Mercy or OLV hospitals will be offered to carry an American flag to honor our soldiers, and all participants in military uniform will be asked to ride on the Mercy float.

For those marching in the parade, a complimentary brunch will be held in the hospital’s main conference room (A/B) on the 3rd floor at 12 p.m..

Free ramp parking and free round trip bus transportation will be provided. Buses will leave for the downtown parade at 1 pm and 2 pm.

RSVP and registration is required by March 17 by calling 828-3675. Space will be limited, so register early.
