February 10, 2011

The Special Care Nursery at Sisters of Charity Hospital, a member of Catholic Health, has received a $10,000 grant from The Children’s Guild Foundation and a $9,730 grant from another local children’s charity wishing to remain anonymous to purchase a new infant hearing screener.

The ALGO-5 hearing screener is a mobile, non-invasive instrument used to screen infants for hearing loss. This state of the art equipment can screen both ears at the same time, making it more comfortable for the baby and more convenient for the technician.

The Children’s Guild Foundation is a non-profit, charitable organization with a mission to advocate and fund rehabilitative healthcare, research, education and therapeutic recreation programs for children with special needs. The Children’s Guild Foundation serves as the catalyst of demonstrable change for children with special needs and their families by funding opportunities that will allow them to achieve their highest potential.
