Congratulations to Kenmore Mercy Hospital physicians David N. Johnson, MD, and James G. Corasanti, MD, PhD, who recently received D’Youville College’s Achievement in Health Care Award. Kenmore Mercy Hospital is a Catholic Health facility.
Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Dr. Johnson joined the hospital’s Medical Staff in 1981. He first entered private practice in 1982 and in 1995 expanded his practice into Kenmore Family Medicine, located behind Kenmore Mercy.
He is also a clinical assistant professor at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine.
In addition to serving the Western New York community in family and geriatric medicine, he was instrumental in helping Himalayan HeathCare raise funds to build and staff a 12,000 square foot hospital in Ilam, located in the eastern portion of Nepal. Over the last six years, the hospital has served more than 50,000 patients. In the last decade, Dr. Johnson has made twelve trips to Nepal to provide needed medical care.
Dr. Corasanti has been a member of Kenmore Mercy Hospital’s Medial Staff since 1995 and with the Buffalo Medical Group, PC, since 2003. He is also medical director of the GI Endoscopy unit at Buffalo General Hospital. In addition, he is a clinical associate professor of medicine at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
He has authored or co-authored articles and abstracts about his research in numerous medical journals and publications.
