M. Steven Piver, M.D. Center for Women’s Health & Wellness Opens at Sisters Hospital

Women are the most informed consumers on healthcare and Sisters of Charity Hospital, as a regional leader in women’s health, has opened the area’s first center that provides women with the health and wellness services they need in one convenient location.

With the support of the Sisters Hospital Foundation, on Monday, January 25, the new M. Steven Piver, M.D. Center for Women’s Health & Wellness held its grand opening.

Located in the hospital’s Seton Professional Building at 2121 Main Street in Buffalo, the Piver Center brings together a variety of women’s health services and wellness programs in a warm and inviting setting to create the first center of its kind in Western New York. Named after M. Steven Piver, MD, a world-renowned physician and Sisters’ medical director of Gynecologic Oncology, the Piver Center builds on the hospital’s longstanding commitment to meet the health needs of women throughout the Buffalo area.

“It is very exciting to see this project come to fruition,” said Dr. Piver, who long envisioned a center devoted exclusively to helping women improve the quality of their lives. “My hope is that this center will be a place where women can rejuvenate their mind, body and spirit, in a supportive, friendly atmosphere.”

The new 7,000 square feet center was funded through a $1 million grant from the Sisters Hospital Foundation. Serving women through all phases of life, Sisters Hospital and Catholic Health are continuing to build upon its reputation for providing comprehensive, high quality women’s health services.

“Women comprise over 70% of our hospital’s inpatient volume, this center will bring a new level of comfort and convenience to the women’s health services we offer,” said Peter Bergmann, hospital president & CEO. “This is a wonderful way to honor Dr. Piver and better serve the health needs of women throughout our community.”
