With the completion of the new Mercy Hospital Emergency Center in May, construction crews began Phase II of the ER Construction Project that will create a new hospital main entrance and modernized hospital lobby. Plans include the construction of an additional street-level hospital entrance on Lorraine Avenue below the parking ramp bridge. The Lorraine Avenue entrance will serve as the temporary main entrance to the hospital until construction work is completed.

The newly renovated Lorraine entrance area will feature a full-service elevator that will transport passengers to street level, ramp bridge level and lobby level. The current ramp bridge stairs will be replaced with a staircase featuring a more gradual incline for added safety and convenience of hospital associates and visitors.

NOTE: Due to construction, the Mercy Hospital parking ramp bridge will be closed for approximately two weeks, beginning July 21, 2010. Hospital officials apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Lorraine Avenue Entrance construction project is expected to be completed by September 7. Completion of the entire Phase II ER Construction Project is slated for November 2010.
