Mercy Hospital’s New Meditation Garden to Feature Statue Gifted to The Sisters of Mercy by Father Baker
June 21, 2010
Amid all the hustle and bustle of Mercy Hospital’s new emergency center will be an oasis of natural beauty where visitors can go for a moment of quiet reflection.
The meditation garden, planned for the emergency center’s inner courtyard, will feature the original statue of Our Lady of Victory that graced the front of Mercy Hospital for over 80 years. This beautiful tribute was given to the Sisters of Mercy in 1929 by Father Nelson Baker to honor the hospital’s silver anniversary.
Honor a Loved One with an Engraved Paving Stone
As a featured part of the garden, a path has been designed with various sizes of paving stones that can be engraved in honor or memory of someone special. Sponsorship opportunities begin at $150.
Granite benches and recognition at the base of the statue will also be available for sponsorship.
Currently under construction, the meditation garden is planned for completion by the end of July. Memorial paving stones will be installed by September 1.
