The Mercy Ambulatory Care Center (MACC) in Orchard Park was recently awarded three-year accreditations in computed tomography (CT) and mammography by the American College of Radiology (ACR). ACR awards accreditation to facilities that meet high national standards for quality and service. To be considered for ACR accreditation, Mercy Hospital voluntarily submitted to a rigorous review of all aspects of its CT and mammography services.
“We are very proud of our CT team and the services we offer to our patients,” said Mary Szymanek, lead CT Technologist who spearheaded the accreditation process. “Having a nationally-accredited CT program is another way we can assure our patients and physicians of the high quality diagnostic care we deliver each and every day.”
Darlene Byrne, Radiology Data Coordinator who oversees mammography services, led the re-accreditation process for mammography services.
Currently, the MACC operates a state-of-the-art 16-slice CT scanner, which features the latest technology for patient safety and comfort. Outpatient appointments are available weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and limited appointments are available on Saturdays and Sundays.
Outpatient appointments for the MACC's mammography services are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Saturday appointments are available from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
