Each year, Kenmore Mercy Hospital chooses one individual to receive the Doctor of Distinction Award. For 2010, that is David, G. Vogt, MD, an anesthesiologist in the Surgery Department since September of 2004.

Multiple nominations spoke of Dr. Vogt’s commitment to the mission and values of Catholic Health and how he treats all of his patients, families and hospital staff with the utmost respect, dignity, and compassion. Story after story told how he goes above and beyond his duties as an anesthesiologist, makes himself available to ambulatory surgery staff, and takes extra time to check on his patients’ needs.

Dr. Vogt is a resident of West Seneca. He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Medicine and completed his residencies at Erie County Medical Center and Buffalo General Hospital.

David, G. Vogt, MDNominations for the Doctor Distinction Award come from hospital staff, volunteers, and fellow physicians, as well as patients and their families.

“Choosing one physician to call the Doctor of Distinction is always a challenge when there are so many wonderful candidates among us,” said Jim Millard, President & CEO of Kenmore Mercy Hospital. “We are fortunate to have nearly 400 physicians on staff whose varying disciplines have prepared us to meet the growing needs of our community.”
