Kenmore Mercy Hospital, a member of Catholic Health, is bringing holiday cheer to the hospital with its annual Sounds of the Season free concert series, featuring local performers. The series kicks off on Tuesday, December 7.
All performances take place at the hospital located at 2950 Elmwood Avenue, Kenmore, NY.
This year’s performances are as follows:
The Lord’s Talents is a very active choir from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Eggertsville. They describe themselves as “an entertainment group who spreads God's love through music and smiles.”
The Kenmore East Select Choir is a select auditioned mixed choir from Kenmore East High School. The students have a very active schedule and perform throughout Western New York.
The hospital welcomes the string duo of Leslie Bahler, violist and former patient, as well as Marilynn Standard. After a stroke-like illness in June, Bahler, a music teacher and a professional violist, lost use of the right side of body, forcing her to suspend her life’s passion. She spent 25 days in the hospitals’ Medical Rehabilitation Unit and now is able to play regularly throughout the community. Standard is a respected local violin and viola teacher.
The St. Joseph Collegiate Institute Men’s Choral Ensemble closes the season with a special performance in the hospital Chapel, which marks the first time that the hospital has broadcast a live musical program in patient rooms via channel 13.
Kenmore Mercy Hospital strives to provide each patient with a fulfilling hospital experience. These performers will help the hospital give patients and unique and special holiday treat, and help spread the joy of the season.
