April 27, 2010
Mercy Hospital of Buffalo is teaming up with da Vinci Women’s Health to sponsor a series of free women’s health events, entitled “Small Steps. Healthier Lives,” at select Curves fitness centers and Catholic Health locations throughout Western New York.
Ali Ghomi, MD, and Scott Zuccala, DO, of Mercy Hospital’s Gynecology Department, along with Kathleen Aebischer, PT, of Catholic Health’s Partners in Rehab program, will be presenting at the events, which run from April 11 through May 31. Dr.’s Ghomi and Zuccala are currently the only surgeons in the Buffalo area performing robotic-assisted, minimally invasive gynecological surgery for non-cancerous conditions using the state-of-the-art da Vinci® Robotic Surgical System.
Participants will learn about preventive health measures, health risks, and the latest cutting-edge treatment options for benign gynecologic issues in women’s health and wellness.
New research confirms that many women put their own health problems last on their lengthy to-do lists. The "Small Steps. Healthier Lives" campaign was created in response to a growing problem in America, as many women living with sensitive – yet treatable – gynecologic issues too often opt for a “wait and see” approach instead of seeking out definitive relief.
Women attending a "Small Steps, Healthier Lives" health event will receive a coupon for 30-Days Free at Curves, redeemable at any participating Curves location.
