Early detection is a key factor in successfully treating many forms of cancer. To help area residents detect cancer in its earliest, most treatable stages, Catholic Health is sponsoring a free cancer screening on Saturday, August 28 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sisters of Charity Hospital, St. Joseph Campus, located at 2605 Harlem Road in Cheektowaga.
The screening is open to adults age 18 or older by appointment only. For more information or to make an appointment, call Catholic Health’s HealthConnection at 706-2112.
The free program will include screening tests for breast, prostate, and thyroid cancer. Participants may select any or all of the screening tests. The prostate and thyroid screening will include a simple blood test and exam by a physician specialist or nurse practitioner. The breast screening will include a clinical breast exam by a nurse practitioner.
