Mercy Hospital has been named a finalist in the 2010 “Best Places to Work” in Western New York awards in the jumbo category (1,000 employees or more), according to Buffalo’s Business First newspaper.
Business First, in conjunction with Quantum Workplace, a market research company, invites hundreds of Western New York businesses to participate in a survey that lets employees measure their work environment. To complete the process, each organization asks their employees to complete a voluntary online survey.
“Being named one of the best places to work in our community is a milestone in our journey to become the workplace community of choice in Western New York,” said C.J. Urlaub, President and CEO of Mercy Hospital of Buffalo.
“Most important, this achievement represents the voices of our own associates who expressed their feelings about working at Mercy Hospital, and is a testament that we are moving in the right direction.”
The responses to the survey questions are analyzed by Quantum Workplace, and each organization’s results indicate how “engaged” their employees are at the company. The winners will be announced at a reception to be held at the Buffalo Convention Center on March 25.
“Over the past couple years, our associates have been actively involved in stepping up efforts to improve communication and the overall work environment,” noted Urlaub. “We thank them for their commitment which leads the way to excellence in patient satisfaction, quality medical care, and ultimately, to an organization that is not just good – but great – in all that we do."
