Peter U. Bergmann, President and CEO for Sisters of Charity Hospital

Peter U. Bergmann, President and CEO for Sisters of Charity Hospital, part of Catholic Health, has been recognized by Modern Healthcare in its list of rising young healthcare leaders in the magazine’s annual “Up & Comers” recognition program.

His profile is featured in the September 14 edition of the healthcare industry’s leading business publication. He was one of 12 healthcare executives, age 40 and under, selected for the recognition from among 139 applicants across the country. Click here to read the article.

“Peter is a progressive healthcare executive with demonstrated success in business strategies, efficiency improvements, and solid financial management,” said Joseph D. McDonald, president and CEO of Catholic Health. “We are certainly proud that his work is nationally recognized.”

Bergmann joined Catholic Health as President and CEO of Sisters Hospital in September 2006. He was appointed President and CEO of both Sisters and St. Joseph Campus in January of this year, becoming the leader of the team that helped bring the two campuses together under an extremely challenging New York State deadline.

“This is a wonderful honor and I will continue to raise the bar as to what patients can expect from a hospital in Western New York,” says Bergmann.

This is the second consecutive year a Catholic Health executive received the honor. Last year, James Dunlop, executive vice president and Chief Financial Officer, was named to the “Up & Comers” list.
