Being admitted to a Catholic Health hospital will no longer mean hockey fans will have to miss their favorite televised Sabres games. In response to patient surveys, the health system recently added extra channels to its television lineup, allowing patients at Kenmore Mercy, Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, Sisters of Charity and St. Joseph hospitals to view Sabres games from their hospital rooms.
“Our patients spoke and we listened,” said Kathy Manns, Manager of Resource Services for the Catholic Health hospitals. “We are pleased to be able to offer this additional programming for all Catholic Health patients who rent television service during their hospital stay.”
Catholic Health made the decision to incur the additional cost so its patients would be able to view most Sabres game, as well as other NHL games and sporting events, throughout the season. Games can be viewed on the Madison Square Gardens (MSG- channel 36) and the Versus (VS- channel 37) channels.
"While we can’t control the outcome of the games, we hope that by providing our patients access to one of their favorite pastimes, we can help to make their hospital stay more pleasant,” Mann added.
