Kenmore Mercy Medical Staff Honors Two Associates
December 11, 2008
Physicians at Kenmore Mercy Hospital have chosen two associates to receive the hospital’s Annual Medical Staff Award recognizing outstanding associates for their meritorious service to patients and staff. The awards were presented to Jeanette McCann, Surgery Unit Clerk, and Johanna Boyd, RN, during a special ceremony in the
hospital’s Main Lobby Atrium on December 10.
Jeanette McCann, a resident of North Tonawanda, began her career with Kenmore Mercy in 2000 as part of the Project SOAR Program. She interned in the medical transcription department and also worked as a per-diem float unit clerk working on all patient care units. In 2002, she accepted the position of full-time unit clerk for the operating room. Ms. McCann has been successful in organizing and handling the operating room’s incoming information and does an outstanding job communicating with the surgeons. She has also played an integral part in the successes of the current operating room process improvement project.
Johanna Boyd, RN, a resident of Tonawanda, has worked at Kenmore Mercy since November 2000 after previously working with Alleghany Hospital and Suburban General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Penn. She currently balances several roles at Kenmore Mercy, including staff nurse, charge nurse and preceptor. She has also served on the shared governance committee and has been the RN skin representative for the 2-West unit.
Kenmore Mercy Medical Staff Board officers review nominees from throughout the hospital and honor two individuals annually who have lived the hospital Mission to reveal the healing love of Jesus to those in need.
